A Brief Introduction
June 11, 2003
Hello? Anyone?
Who am I and why am I doing this?
Well, I have dedicated this summer to rediscovering myself. My true self. There’s a birthday coming up, and it may or may not be a significant one. Either way, it’s making me think about things. I’ve been doing a lot of reading. Someone suggested journaling. And then I realized that I want to write again. By saying “write again”, I mean write the way I used to write, in my true voice and with humor. I’ve lost that ability, so bear with me as I try to regain it. You see, I write all day at work, but it’s legal writing. Hardly in true voice and with humor. After years and years of legal writing, which I must admit I have become very good at, I seem to have lost the ability to write as Autumn. Regaining that ability is part of rediscovering myself.
So what do I have to say?
Good question. Mostly, I’ll probably write about daily events and observations and whatever is on my mind. I’ll write about my rediscovery process. I’ll write about Jenny and Olivia, who are my best friends and my heroes. Maybe I’ll write about “Lala”. I’ll be opinionated while trying to be respectful of others’ opinions. I’ll vent about work. I’ll report my bowling scores.
In my profile, I might have mentioned that I am old (according to my birth certificate). Yes, I am probably older than anyone reading this. Recently, my mother was kind enough to point out that I am biologically old enough to be a grandmother. (Thanks, Mom, nice try, but do you realize that would make you a great-grandmother?) Now that could imply I’m all of 24, but I AM OLDER. Someone I graduated from high school with really IS a grandmother. Okay, she didn’t actually graduate, having dropped out in favor of an early ride on the reproduction train.
And now I must draft some corporate organizational documents.
Enjoy the boredom.
