Mary the Pest has been coughing non-stop (well, it seems non-stop) since she came in this morning. While I reluctantly concede that it must be worse for the cougher than the audience,
COULD YOU PLEASE SHUT YOUR FUCKING DOOR?!!!
Better still, GO HOME. I don’t want what you have.

In her defense, I’ve gone in to work with a cough like that. They last for 2-4 weeks, even with medicine, so it’s not really like you can take 3 weeks off for a stinkin’ COUGH, especially if – like my job – things just pile up quickly into the realm of “overwhelming” whenever you leave for an extended period of time.
My standard for sick days is that I either have to (1) puke, (2) be so lightheaded that I don’t think driving is safe / so tired that I’m afraid I won’t be able to drive home if I stay, or (3) have something serious enough that I think it warrants a hike to the ER.
I mean, if I didn’t go to work every time I felt a little crappy, I’d work about four days a year…

I hate when I go up to a cashier at the grocery store and they start hacking and then touching my food. If I see it in time, sometimes I’ll change cashiers. I hate having germs coughed on stuff I’m going to eat. I just had a terrible cold for two weeks. I know it was from one of those damn germy clerks! Stay home beeyotches!
